Erika White

Erika joined the Dr. Don show in January of 2006 and we were really quite surprised at her decision.  Why?  Well she came to the station and sat in with us doing a research paper for her school, Wayne State University, and we didn't scare her off!  How rare that is!

Her background is really quite diverse.  Between high school and college, Erika operated a jackhammer and still to this day has a bit of a tremor.  All of her high school friends still remember her fondly for being there for them as a midwife.  But like all of us, she's not perfect.  She's still on probation for operating a pitbull ring in her basement a few years ago.

Erika lives with her parents in Allen Park.  She  enjoys making, wearing and selling flannel shirts.  It's kind of a cottage industry for her and she has been doing it for years. Erika's goal is to get Ellen DeGeneres to wear one of her shirts on her TV show!

Erika has had some interesting comments on the morning show members.  She asked Dr. Don if he had been dropped on his head as a child.  She questioned why Grunwald puts Vaseline in his hair.  She was blown away by Rachel Hunter's fashion designer purse and is insane with jealousy.  And she commented on what a nice man Bob Schuman is.  In her words: "He's as cute as a little lamb." But overhearing that remark, Doc chimed in saying:  "Lamb?  He's more like gigantic slab of mutton!"

Erika's uncertain of what her future will hold.  We think she's way too pretty for radio!  We're gonna try and steer her in the direction of TV.  If she doesn't make it in the media world, Erika says she may shoot for a gig as an overnight clerk at one of those motels where patrons pay by the hour.

We learned during her stay learned that Erika has a tattoo in a rather sensitive area. If you are over 21 and would like to take a look at this tattoo, click here.

Erika ditched us in March of 2006.  Fed up.  Just couldn't take it anymore.  Actually she was so popular at the station that she wormed her way into a paying gig with the WYCD promotions and programming department.  So she jilted Doc and the gang just to make a buck!  Thanks, Erika!

We asked Erika what she misses the most about not being on the show and this was her reply:  "It was going downstairs each morning to fetch eggs and sausage for Grunwald.  The guy down at that little cafeteria is such a wonderful man.  I miss his warm embrace each morning!"

Erika -- you were an incredible intern and you're a wonderful person.  Few people know it but you saved the day on day one of the St. Jude radiothon this year when we had horrible technical difficulties and you figured out a way around them.  We miss you tons and hope you will stay in touch.
